The summer is waging on. The lovely sunshine has been just wonderful to soak in. The goat kids are enjoying their time playing on the hill and basking in the good weather. As the summer progresses, the babies are slowly heading off to their new homes. As much as I enjoy my time with them, I also enjoy seeing them head off to loving homes.
We are already preparing for winter which is always difficult to think about. The barn is stacked with hay. We are buying two new milking stands for the barn and plumbing in the water heater. Things continue to evolve and progress. Next to upgrade the barn's electrical. It has been a great season so far. Before you know it, we will be planning our breeding list for next year. Also, we will be adding a new buck from Mountain Lodge Farm/cheese shop in Eatonville, WA and a new doe from Pholia Farm/artisan cheese in Rogue River, OR. These are very promising acquisitions for the continuing refinement of our dairy character. Stay tuned for exciting changes here at Franke Farm....
